Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual discipline and guide for life. Thousands of years old, the techniques and applications of yoga and meditation bring balance, health, vitality and peace to those who practice. Yoga can quickly bring improvement to stress, anxiety, self-esteem, stiffness, weight issues and fatigue amongst other issues, and with continued dedicated practice can help ease longer-term ailments and conditions.
I'm too stiff to do yoga - I can't touch my toes
Anyone can practice yoga. You do not have to be flexible to take a class.
Flexibility comes over time - the most important thing is to show up, and breathe!
Although yoga classes have grown in popularity over the years, for some, private lessons are more appealing. Private sessions can bring about improvements to mental and physical health and help you achieve personal yoga goals. An instructor teaching in a private setting takes your goals and creates a personalized routine.
Stacey Cabrera on Yoga Therapy......
"I have been practicing yoga three days a week for over 20 years and have been teaching for 10 years. Only after I became injured, did I truly begin to understand the power of Yoga. After I had back and neck surgery, I made the decision to become more disciplined with my yoga and meditation practice. I began by taking a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at Joschi Yoga Institute. That was the beginning of my journey of self discovery and self study. After my teacher training I knew immediately that I wanted to share what I had just learned. In 2010, I felt the yearning to go deeper, so I embarked on a 300hr advanced teacher training at Laughing Lotus’ Lotus Flow University. I also studied Restorative Yoga with Judith Hanson Lasater. In September 2014, I went on a Yoga Pilgrimage to India under the tutelage of my teacher, Ragunath Cappo. I came home feeling so blessed and with more questions about the History and true meaning of Yoga. In 2015, I completed a 500hr advanced “Change Your Life” teacher training with Ragunath Cappo and Sondra Loring. My only hope now is to continue to give to others what was so freely given to me. All of the beautiful knowledge of teaching a physical yoga practice, meditation, breathing techniques and how to live a true yogic lifestyle. By the mercy of my teachers, I can offer to you what they have taught me."
APPOINTMENTS ON YOUR SCHEDULE
Making the time to practice is a vital element of yoga. If it’s not possible to get to a class, then joining a class is not the best choice. In such an instance, a private appointment can accommodate even the most hectic of schedules and can work around personal plans and scheduling conflicts.
